The Brief
The MVP proved the concept, but inconsistent UI was losing readers before they formed a habit. Alandal needed a publishing platform that kept readers coming back. Toraka needed a cross-source tracking layer that tied the wider manhwa ecosystem together. Both needed a design system that could ship features without breaking.
A full redesign of two interlocking platforms serving millions of webtoon and manhwa readers. 200+ responsive screens, a design system built for scale, and a UX designed around how serial readers actually behave. Toraka now powers Asurascans, the number one site in Animation and Comics globally with roughly 77 million monthly visits.
Results
Both platforms scaled into millions of readers post-redesign and kept growing. Toraka now powers the biggest site in its category globally. The design system held up at a scale most agencies never have to think about.
